The exhibition LADIES OF ROMANIAN ART - in the art collections

of the National Museum Complex "Princely Court" Târgoviște

 

 

Between September and November 2020, at the Art Museum of Târgoviște, visitors can admire the exhibition LADIES OF ROMANIAN ART - in the art collections of the National Museum Complex "Curtea Domnească" Târgoviște.

The exhibition includes a part of the history of Romanian art written with the sweat, struggle and talent of artists from all over the country, some of them representatives of Romanian cultural feminism, and others remained unknown; works made by them are sporadically found in the collections of Romanian Art and Sculpture and are part of the patrimony of the National Museum Complex "Princely Court" Târgoviște since the beginning of the first collections, in the first half of the last century, as donations or acquisitions, graphics, painting or sculpture present in the exhibition were made between 1881 and 1970, with refinement and style by: Elena Popea, Eugenia Filotti Atanasiu, Milița Petrașcu, Nina Arbore, Olga Greceanu, Lucia Demetriade Bălăcescu, Micaela Eleutheriade, Tanți Iliescu Mihăilescu, Magdalena Rădulescu, Mariana Petrașcu, Lucia Cosmescu, Zipser Katharina and some names belonging to the 19th century which, although resonating with the great boyar families, are unknown (Elena Hristodorescu, Ana Maghieru, Lucreția I. Massu).

The exhibition is open to visitors until November 31, 2020, at the Art Museum, in Calea Domnească Street, no. 185, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9.00 and 17.00.
